Some launch dates are more equal than others, but this one is certainly correct as Nerial and The Dairymen confirmed that Orwell's Animal Farm launches on December 10, 2020.
The two certainly knew when to launch Orwell's Animal Farm, but we're not going to talk about those connotations here - there's plenty of places to get your political fill from.
What we will talk about is the game itself, and for starters, Orwell's Animal Farm launches for PC and mobile. It's clearly based on George Orwell's novella, which the team adapted into an adventure game.
"I have long wanted to explore how, through video gaming, we could design an experience which immerses the player in Orwell’s vision. As the project has come to fruition in 2020 it has felt increasingly vital to bring Orwell’s study of inequity, power and control to a new audience", wrote Imre Jele, the project's founder.
Players of Orwell's Animal Farm will get to try out their own political strategies on Manor Farm, where they'll cultivate, subvert or sacrifice different animals. You'll get to tailor your own adventure through seven years of Animalism, and hopefully evade, or at least prolong the looming disasters.
Orwell's Animal Farm lets you keep track of the animals and their behaviours, but you'll also have to build the defences, manage resources and, of course, be in charge of building the Windmill.
Orwell's Animal Farm includes Surveillance, Reeducation and Bloodbaths as political machinations, each of which contributes to one of the 6 destinies and 8 different endings. Additionally, you can bring in new creatures into your republic, and open up new possibilities for your farm. Yeah, we know, the farm where all animals are equal - we've heard it before!
