The upcoming reboot of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will not feature the popular Zombies Mode it's been officially confirmed by Infinity Ward. The devs are aiming for a realistic experience which is why Zombies won't make the cut.

A soft reboot of the original Modern Warfare series has been finally revealed by Activision last week, and the publisher also confirmed a couple of positive new additions, including the lack of season pass and cross-play support.

Today, new details about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare's game modes have been confirmed by the developer Infinity Ward. In an interview with campaign gameplay director Jacob Minkoff over at PlayStation Life, it's been revealed that Modern Warfare won't feature one of the most popular modes in the Call of Duty series - Zombies.

If you played the original Modern Warfare from 2007, you'll probably remember that Zombies were not included, however, the first introduction of the mode came in World at War, one year later. The mode also did not appear in Modern Warfare 2.

The decision to leave out Zombies was made due to a more realistic setting and experience. "We’re trying to create an authentic, realistic feeling world," Minkoff told the site.

"We don’t have the flexibility to do something like put zombies in the game. That would compromise the feeling of playing in a world that feels realistic and authentic and relative to today’s conflicts and things we face," he concluded.

While some players definitely won't be happy with Infinity Ward's decision, we have to say that the reason behind it sounds pretty solid.

However, the devs should replace the mode with some new content as no matter how unrealistic Zombies could be in Modern Warfare game, removing game modes without replacing them certainly won't be accepted lightly.

This new content could be a new co-op mode, that Infinity Ward only slightly mentioned before and are not yet ready to talk about it. Hopefully, more details will be shared on E3 2019.
