While Sony released another stretch of gameplay featuring a troll fight, other bits of the story and character dynamics are leaking in different areas. One such example is a video with nine minutes worth of previously unseen footage.
(Potential spoilers ahead!)
This footage starts with Kratos and his son, Atreus, climbing a narrow cave with scripted jump scares popping out of the walls. Kratos repeatedly tells Atreus to keep silent, probably not to wake any more of these adversaries. This hints at the game branching out, having horror approaches at times, unlike the previous entries in the series which focused almost entirely on hack & slash action.
The next segment shows them fighting against creatures awfully similar to the Parademons from DC Comics universe. This part of their battle serves as a great reminder of Kratos' Spartan heritage, as he teaches his son to force an overwhelming number of enemies in a narrow passage where their numbers aren't an advantage anymore.

Shortly after the lesson, we can also see Kratos' Spartan Rage that left some people underwhelmed. While ripping enemies apart with his bare hands sounds cool, there aren't any juicy animations where you can see him brutally beating his opponents. It looks more like he's slapping flies around.
Relationship between Kratos and Atreus is also shown to be somewhat strained, as Atreus is under the impression that Kratos never really wanted him. This is shown in a sequence where Kratos is seemingly attempting to find Faye, Atreus' mother, in a spirit realm of some sort, and Atreus' words can be heard. He's calling for his mother, saying ''you need to come back, you left me with him''.

It is known that Faye passed away in non-described circumstances some time prior to the game's start and Kratos was absent when it happened, and it is implied by Atreus he continues going away from time to time. He even berates Kratos once he comes out of the portal for leaving him once again.
