Treyarch studio are already working on the next Call of Duty game and according to the lead designer David Vonderhaar, the game will not feature the unpopular jetpacks gadget.
It may have been only a couple of months since the release of the latest Call of Duty game but that doesn't mean that the development of the next one is not well underway. Quite the contrary, Treyarch are already working on the next Call of Duty game, which will be another Black Ops title according to earlier reports from Kotaku .
And as Treyarch are working hard to bring us a new Black Ops title, many players are wondering if the next title will bring back some of the old features like jetpacks which many Call of Duty players dislike. If you're one of those players, you'll be happy to hear that Treyarch don't have any plans to re-introduce the feature that last appeared in Black Ops 3.
Treyarch's lead designer David Vonderhaar confirmed this when on Twitter user simply tweeted him "you better have jetpacks in the next CoD". Vonderhaar replied with an even simpler word - "No". Jetpacks were also missing in Treyarch's latest Call of Duty game - Black Ops 4 - which could mean that the developers are getting rid of it for good, at least in the Black Ops games.
The details about the next Call of Duty games are pretty scarce at the moment but we know that the original developer Sledgehammer Games were replaced by Treyarch who will take creative leadership on this game while Raven and Sledgehammer will serve as support studios.
According to reports, Black Ops 5 will be set during the Cold War and will feature a single-play campaign just like Modern Warfare. The game should release sometime in late 2020, possibly October or November.
