Amazon Game Studios have struggled to balance armour classes out in New World ever since the game's launch as the players normally end up using just one or two of the classes.
With the latest update, the team is looking to shift the focus away from the light armour as medium and heavy received 2.5 and five per cent armour rating buffs, respectively.
That is not all, however, as assassins will have a harder job in PvP due to other buffs to damage mitigation.
Shirking Fortify maximum reduction has been increased from 3.9 to 4.7 per cent, Sturdy Fortification from four to five per cent, Fortifying Whirlwind from 6.6 to 8.8 per cent on armour and from 10 to 14 per cent on weapons.
On top of that, Great Axe, War Hammer and Sword and Shield all received a buff to their respective crowded protection passives, whose values have been doubled, going from 10 up to 20 per cent.
Overall, the game should feel much better for bruisers now but it remains to be seen whether battles will drag out for too long when you factor healing in.
On top of that, healers in heavier armour sets may become a thing once again, which should technically result in sturdy healers but keep in mind that their output is also restricted by not wearing light armour.
