Capcom has released a 15-minute gameplay video of Monster Hunter Wilds, showcasing the dynamic Switchaxe weapon and inventory management.

Capcom has treated fans to another deeper look at the upcoming action RPG, Monster Hunter Wilds, launching next year on PC and current generation consoles - PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

The latest reveal includes a 15-minute gameplay video shared by IGN Japan during Gamescom, in which the publication will go just a bit deeper into some of the finer details in the game.

This footage shows what fans of Monster Hunter know and love in action, especially when it becomes quite clear how we get to realize the use of our Switchaxe - a dynamic weapon that can shift between axe and sword forms. Fluidity and flexibility blaze through the use of the Switchaxe in combat, showing just how fast it is in use and how flexible.

Besides outright monster-hunting, this video nails down other key features of the game, including inventory management and a newly front-facing item bar.

These are pretty important for players to have assistance in efficiently managing resources and equipment during hunts. Therefore, this adds another layer of strategy to this kind of gameplay.

Capcom has been pushing Monster Hunter Wilds hard, with a series of short concept trailers focused on a single weapon type—all 13 in the game means a lot of vids. Today sees the last one announced for the Lance and Dual Blades, showing off the final two of the many tools players will have on offer.

Monster Hunter Wilds is due for release in 2025 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. The more shown of this game, the greater the hype, as the community pushes for a chance to explore such a vast world filled with fearsome beasts.
