Monster Hunter: Rise is getting more and more teasers as Capcom approach the finish line, and this time it's about the heavy-hitting bundle of pain called Switch Axe.
Switch Axe is a bit of a detour from Monster Hunter's standard style, but it's an interesting weapon nevertheless. In the description, Capcom described it as:
"Mighty, transformative force. The Switch Axe boasts advanced technology to deliver multiple options:
- Axe form - fluid motion and hefty hits.
- Sword form - quick powered-up strikes."
Monster Hunter: Rise players who go for the Switch Axe should know that phial effects activated in one form persist in the other, which makes for a bunch of creative options in dispatching the rabid monsters.
Moreover, there's the silkbind attack Invincible Gambit, which fortifies the hunter, making them immune to flinching or knockbacks, no matter how fierce the attack, which should help you dish out damage with ease.
The second silkbind attack is called Switch Charger, and the naming scheme is pretty obvious. From what we've seen on the trailer, it seems to be all about unleashing a world of hurt, while maintaining the switch gauge.
Capcom recently promised Nintendo Switch players a playable demo in January 2021, so it won't be much longer. It will be interesting to see what the current Monster Hunter: World players think, especially since Monster Hunter: Rise has been built from the ground up for Nintendo's platform.
Capcom has also been busy teasing different Monster Hunter: Rise weapons, monsters and locations, some of which can be found in one of our earlier posts here .
