According to the latest leak from GamingIntel, Call of Duty Modern Warfare could have battle royale mode on launch and apparently, it's a pretty big one. Its map is three times bigger than Blackout's and it supports up to 200 players.
Infinity Ward's upcoming reboot of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will feature battle royale mode according to the latest leak, despite some earlier rumours suggesting that the devs are ditching it to focus on the singleplayer campaign and other multiplayer modes.
Not only that Modern Warfare will feature battle royale mode, it will also be a massive one, GamingIntel claims. Apparently, it's map will be three times bigger than the one in Black Ops 4 Blackout mode.
Furthermore, it will support up to 200 players, which is double of Blackout. However, it's only been tested with 152 players say GamingIntel. On top of these big features, the map will contain many close quarter and open areas and supply drops.
The closing ring has also been changed. Apparently, now it's a ring of poisonous gas that works in the same way as Blackout's ring, only it's looking a bit fancier. There's also a mention of a cash system which will allow you to gather cash all over the map, deposit it into the bank at ATM's and keep it if you win the match. The cash can be spent on outfits and supply drops.
GamingIntel claims that battle royale mode for new Modern Warfare was not planned initially but somewhere down the road, Infinity Ward had a change of heart and decided to go with it.
At the moment, battle royale mode is planned for launch but it could be delayed and released in one of the post-launch updates.
Of course, just like any other rumour, leak or unconfirmed info, take this one with a huge grain of salt. That being said, if these details are indeed true, then Modern Warfare's battle royale experience could really be something special. Fingers crossed that Infinity Ward pull it off.
