If you are among the five or so Metal Gear fans who hold the firm belief that the series could do with more zombies and multiplayer co-op then you are in luck. Konami has now disclosed a release date for the title and it's coming in early 2018.

Metal Gear Survive will be the first entry to the series since Hideo Kojima has been kindly pointed towards the door of Konami. It appears to be quite a departure from what fans may be used to from Metal Gear, and quite a few Kojima and fans and fans of the franchise are already shaking their heads in unison.

Metal Gear Survive will launch regardless, and it will launch on 22 February 2018 in Europe and two days earlier in the US. The game will launch simultaneously on all platforms, and by all platforms we mean PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The Nintendo Switch isn't allowed to hang out with the grown-ups just yet, and while a port is technically possible, there is still no official word from Konami on the matter.

As always, Konami wants you to pre-order the game really really super hard at roughly £35 a pop on all platforms, and while you are completely at liberty to do whatever you please with your money, AltChar still advises against pre-ordering anything. This includes Metal Gear Survive.
