Valve is about to enter a sale frenzy in Q4 2023 but that didn't stop them from already publishing the list of Steam sales in Q1 2024.
Interestingly enough, February is the shortest month in the quarter but it will have the most sales.
Some also appear to be innovations compared to the previous sales but the best part is it doesn't really matter if we get deals on our favourite games.
Steam sale dates in early 2024
- January
- Capitalism and Economy Fest: January 8 - 15
- Pirates vs. Ninjas Fest: January 22 - 29
- February
- Next Fest: February 5 - 12
- Remote Play Together: February 12 - 19
- Dinos vs. Robots Fest: February 26 - March 4
- March
- Spring Sale: March 14 - 21 (major seasonal sale)
- Deckbuilders Fest: March 25 - April 1
Takeaways
Capitalism and Economy Fest will probably revolve around city builders and grand strategy so if you were looking for a Tycoon game or two, this is your time.
Pirates vs Ninjas Fest is self-explanatory, with anything containing either being featured during the festival.
Next Fest is probably one of the two most exciting events of the season as it is bound to bring new demos to try out and if 2024 is anything close to 2023, there will be plenty of amazing games to try out.
Remote Play Together is all about co-op games that require just one copy for two or perhaps even more people to enjoy.
Dinos vs Robots is much like Pirates vs Ninjas, just with different main actors.
Spring Sale is the second big event of Q1 2024 as it's an all-out discount extravaganza. If all the previous sales missed the game you're targeting, this one won't. Discounts may end up being deeper as well.
Deckbuilders is all about TCGs and possibly other games that feature cards, such as Marvel's Midnight Suns which we found to be an excellent game but it unfortunately underperformed in financial terms.
