Left 4 Dead 2 fans rejoice - Valve's legendary survival horror is heading for a hefty update called The Last Stand, and the trailer will get you up to speed on what to expect.
We're talking about the first update in a while and if you've ever indulged in Valve's zombie carnage shooter, it's sure to bring back some fond memories.
Interestingly enough, Left 4 Dead 2: The Last Stand has not been developed by Valve but rather by its passionate community members, who clearly weren't happy with the gap that many fans claim was never filled after GabeN and Co moved on to other endeavours.
"This update is a collaborative effort of 30+ community members working together with Valve over the course of 11 months to create new content for this beloved game, which will be available to all PC players as free DLC", the devs wrote.
Left 4 Dead 2: The Last Stand is not just a gimmick update, mind you, as the devs really packed it full of content, starting with more than 20 fresh survival maps for players to try out.
The team added new animations and reworked some of the existing ones to make sure it's closer to modern standards. They even made use of previously unused voice lines, which should lend the audio side of Left 4 Dead 2: The Last Stand some freshness too.
Left 4 Dead 2: The Last Stand brings new melee weaponry, some of which you can see in the trailer, PvP fixes and enhancements, 30 new achievements, two brand new mutations and a ton of bug and exploit fixes to boot.
You won't have to wait long either, as Left 4 Dead 2: The Last Stand launches on PC on September 24, 2020, and comes as a free update to all PC players.
