ECS season 4 - teams for the CS:GO league revealed

Faceit’s premiere Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) league, today revealed the full lineup of teams for season 4. The action will be streamed on Faceit's official YouTube channel. Season 4 kicks off on 06 October.

Esports fans, beware: The Esports Championship Series, Faceit’s premiere Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) league, today revealed the full line-up of teams from around North America and Europe set to compete in the Season 4. ECS Season 4 will kick off on 06 October and see the return of Season 3 winners, SK Gaming, Season 2 winners, Astralis, and Season 1 winners, G2 Esports.

Each team mentioned above has a chance to become the first two-time winner of the ECS and take home the winner’s share of the £565K prize pool. Fans can catch all the action live on Faceit’s . The venue for the ECS Season 4 Finals will be announced soon.

Here's some "previously on ECS" to get you up to speed on the ECS Relegation Playoffs: Heroic beat the ECS Season 3 tenth placed team, Team Dignitas, to claim their spot, while Virtus.pro edged out Space Soldiers to retain their place for ECS Season 4. In North America, Luminosity defeated Misfits, while Ghost Gaming beat Tempo Storm, keeping the team line-up the same as ECS Season 3.

The full list of teams set to compete in ECS Season 4 are as follows:

  • European teams

    -Astralis - founded in January 2016 by members of "Team Question Mark" after they left Team SoloMid. The team claimed first place at this year's IEM Katowice and Eleague Major 2017.

    -Team EnVyUs - lost the finals of the 2017 CoD World Championship to OpTic Gaming. The only team to have reached 4 out of 5 CoD World Championship finals.

    -SK Gaming - The team is based in Germany. This year, SK Gaming won the cs_summit Spring, IEM Sydney, DreamHack Open Summer and Esports Championship Series Season 3.
