Riot Games is introducing a lot of new things in League of Legends Season 2025. The LoL Season 2025 is hit with some of the largest changes to ranking, rewards and progression coming to League of Legends.
Alongside the game update, players will be introduced to a brand new ranked system, along with an overhauled Battle Pass experience. Keep reading to find out everything you need to know about the new League of Legends Season 2025.
Ranked system adjustments
Starting with Season 2025, ranks will only reset at the beginning of each year and not between splits. At the end of each thematic season - which coincided with one of the smaller seasonal themes introduced, various rewards could still be earned by a player.
New and improved Battle Pass
Below are some exciting upgrades that come with the new Season Pass:
- Each of these passes will align with that season's theme and last four patches, not two.
Three tiers of purchase will be available:
- 1650 RP: Basic Battle Pass.
- 2650 RP: Comes with all 10 pass levels and Prestige rewards.
- 3650 RP: Adds 25 Mythic Essence and a Prestige Chroma.
Battle Pass rewards
Free and paid tracks will offer the following rewards:
Free Track:
- Thematic earnable skin permanent
- Random 975 RP skin
- Titles, Icons, Emotes and Blue Essence
Paid Track:
- Prestige Skin and Three reward skins
- Ancient Sparks, Borders, and Mythic Essence
- Additional loot in general, including Orbs, Banners, and Ward Skins.
Prestige skin update
Prestige skins will be in Battle Passes from now on, and there won't be any releases of non-prestige versions.
Release date
Content for Season 2025 will start hitting the PBE after Patch 14.24 on December 11, 2024, but is expected to launch early in January 2025 when a new year of competitive play and exciting updates begins.
