League of Legends Season 2025 promises to be really loaded with changes. Gameplay updates, new mechanics, and fresh content-all are going to be there, front and center.

Riot Games moved away from doing traditional preseason adjustments and, instead, released them directly on the PBE server before an integration into live servers. Here is a detailed look at what is in store this season.

Season 2025 has a theme of Noxus, from the gameplay to cosmetics. Summoner's Rift is going to represent Noxian architecture; revised turrets, inhibitors, and the Nexus itself will sport a whole new look. One of the largest new mechanics added will be respawning Nexus Turrets - all the better to make that defense a bit more manageable at those really high-intensity moments.

New Epic Monster: Atakhan

But the coolest new thing in the game is Atakhan, Bringer of Ruin, an epic monster of Noxian lore. Spawns at 20 minutes, the location of Atakhan depends on which lane saw the most action earlier in the game.

He has two variants: Atakhan the Ruinous

  • Passive: Grasps permanent buffs, summons Blood Roses, which, upon killing them, give XP and Adaptive Force.
  • Insatiable Atakhan: Provides a temporary rebirth buff similar to Akshan's passive.

Spawn times have been updated for Baron Nashor and Rift Herald: Baron appears at 25 minutes, and Herald spawns at 16 minutes.

Feats of Strength

Replacing the former First Blood and First Turret gold rewards, Feats of Strength reward teams with gold upon completing certain objectives. These are:

  • Securing First Blood
  • Destruction of the First Tower
  • Kill the first three jungle monsters of epic character

Teams completing two of these feats receive the "Blessing of Noxus," a team-wide buff that upgrades tier 2 boots and opens up tier 3 upgrades with added benefits.

New Runes

There are four new runes that replace existing ones:

  • Axiom Arcanist - Increases ultimate damage and refunds cooldowns.
  • Deep Ward - Empowers stealth wards placed in enemy territory.
  • Sixth Sense - Shows and reveals the placements of enemy wards.
  • Grisly Mementos - Given to stacking trinket ability haste on takedowns.
