As League of Legends hurtles toward the much-anticipated Season 2024, Riot Games is leaving no stone unturned in its quest for innovation.
Among the myriad transformations, the venerable 'Perfect Timing' keystone, nestled in the Inspiration tree, is making way for a new contender – the intriguing 'Triple Tonic.'
This alteration holds particular significance for mage champions and select bot lane supports, ushering in a shift in the strategic landscape.
Perfect Timing, a keystone revered for bestowing a complimentary stopwatch post a specific in-game duration, is bidding adieu.
This rune, providing a 750g value item at no cost, has been a staple choice due to its game-altering potential. Recognizing its ubiquity, Riot opted for a change to introduce more balance.
Unveiling Triple Tonic
Say hello to Triple Tonic, the freshest addition to League of Legends' rune repertoire. Nestled within the Inspiration tree, this keystone ushers in a new era by offering three distinct elixir items upon reaching specific XP thresholds.
Analogous to the biscuits and magical footwear keystones of the same tree, Triple Tonic introduces consumable elixirs, each catering to different facets of gameplay.
Elixir of Avarice: Level 3
Level 3 Unlocks: Upon reaching level 3, players gain access to the Elixir of Avarice. Consumption endows champions with 5 true damage on hit against minions for one minute. Post-expiration, a gratuity of 40 gold is bestowed, proving invaluable in the early laning phase. Expect champions like Kayle and LeBlanc to relish the benefits, particularly due to their initial wave-clear challenges.
Elixir of Force: Level 6
Level 6 Unlocks: Elixir of Force steps into the limelight at level 6. Imbibing this elixir grants a temporary surge of power, providing 20 bonus Adaptive Force for one minute. This boost can be a game-changer in early skirmishes, Drake encounters, and objective contests, offering flexibility in AD or AP augmentation based on champion needs.
Elixir of Skill
Mystery Unlocks: The enigmatic Elixir of Skill, making a triumphant return after its hiatus since patch 9.23, emerges as a wildcard. Historically capable of bestowing free skill points for non-ultimate abilities, its reintegration into the current meta holds promise for strategic diversity.
All these transformative runes, culminating in the farewell to the Stopwatch rune and the induction of Triple Tonic, will take center stage with the advent of Patch 14.1. Scheduled for an early January 2024 release, League of Legends enthusiasts can brace themselves for a paradigm shift in strategic dynamics.
