League of Legends players, brace yourselves for the upcoming Season 14, as the iconic boss monster, Baron Nashor, is set to undergo a magnificent transformation.
As we bid farewell to the exhilarating Season 13, marked by a blend of disappointment, mid-season intensity, and a captivating preseason, the stage is set for Season 14.
Riot, in its latest revelation, has unveiled a plethora of changes awaiting us in the new Preseason 2024 update. Among these changes, the spotlight shines brightly on the magnificent purple worm, Baron Nashor.
The Baron Nashor rework
Baron Nashor, the colossal creature lurking in the pit, is stepping into a new era with the upcoming Season 14. The last notable change to Baron's appearance was witnessed in 2015 with the Season 5 Summoner's Rift rework.
Since then, there have been sporadic balance adjustments, but nothing of substantial significance. Now, after years of anticipation, Baron Nashor is set to captivate us with a revamped design and some intriguing new abilities.
The visual transformation
The most substantial change in Season 14 is the visual overhaul of Baron Nashor. Embracing an eldritch design, Baron will now sport snake-like protruding mandibles and multiple hands, adding an eerie allure to its presence.
In addition to the visual transformation, Baron will manifest in three distinct forms. Each form not only alters Baron's appearance but also transforms the surrounding terrain and introduces unique attacks. The exciting twist is that these forms are randomized, ensuring a varied Baron encounter in each game.
Baron Nashor's forms
Let's unravel the mysteries of Baron's three new forms:
1. Hunting Baron
- Recognition: Distinguished by a massive horn on its head.
- Attack: Unleashes lightning from above, striking nearby enemies.
- Terrain: No significant changes.
2. Territorial Baron
- Recognition: Lacks a distinct horn but generates a wall in front of the Baron pit.
- Attack: Pulls champions near with grotesque new hands.
- Terrain: Introduction of a wall, altering the battleground dynamics.
3. All-Seeing Baron
- Recognition: Giant eye on its forehead, accompanied by extensive terrain changes.
- Attack: Creates a massive tunnel with choke points, introducing a Void Rift with damage zones.
- Terrain: A complex tunnel with strategic choke points.
Jungle camps void transformation
The Void's influence extends beyond Baron Nashor, affecting other jungle camps.
After Baron's spawn, the Blue Sentinel, Red Brambleback, and Rift Scuttler undergo void-corrupted transformations.
1. Voidborn Brambleback (Red Buff)
- Transformation: After 20 minutes.
- Changes: Increased durability with enhanced rewards. Entire team receives the buff upon killing it.
2. Voidborn Sentinel (Blue Buff)
- Transformation: Triggered after Baron Nashor's spawn.
- Changes: Grants Blue Buff to the team upon killing it.
3. Voidborn Scuttler
- Transformation: Activates after Baron Nashor's appearance.
- Effects: Unleashes a Scryer's Bloom effect, revealing champions and wards in a broad area. Revealed wards have reduced HP.
