League of Legends: Rammus Mid-Patch Update - Everything you need to know

Rammus gets a significant mid-scope update, tweaking all abilities and adding fresh scaling mechanics. Learn how these changes transform the Armordillo’s gameplay.

The legendary Rammus from League of Legends receives a new mid-scope update that transforms his jungle performance and overall gameplay. While this update does not represent a full overhaul it delivers significant alterations across all of Rammus’ abilities.

The updates redefine Rammus' core traits while modernizing his gameplay and introduce new synergies for players to test.

The developers have made initial adjustments to Rammus’ foundational statistics. Rammus receives increased base attack damage plus enhanced scaling per level but his basic armor rating is reduced. His attack speed has been boosted to assist with early jungle clear operations and skirmishes.

These Riot's adjustments to his abilities direct Rammus towards a bruiser playstyle while maintaining his fundamental durability as a tank.

Passive and Q Buffs

His passive ability Spiked Shell does not deal magic damage on-hit anymore. The passive now transforms 15% of Rammus’ total armor and magic resist into additional attack damage.

The changes introduce new build paths for players who choose to focus on magic resistance or mixed defenses. Powerball gains increased damage when ranked up thus making Rammus’ engagements more dangerous.

Defensive Ball Curl: Major Overhaul

Defensive Ball Curl on Rammus has undergone the greatest transformation compared to other abilities. Defensive Ball Curl no longer boosts Rammus’ passive abilities because its duration remains fixed at 7 seconds without extension through auto attacks.

The updated Defensive Ball Curl scales reflected damage based on magic resistance while granting more magic resistance and replaces the former endless reflect spam with more reliable defensive scaling. The new W ability provides better reliability and management during combat encounters.

Frenzying Taunt alongside Soaring Slam updates

Frenzying Taunt now targets jungle monsters with magic damage while forfeiting its champion attack speed bonus. The ultimate ability of Rammus called Soaring Slam has undergone modifications.

Rammus’ ultimate Soaring Slam no longer stacks shockwave damage but now has a 60% slow increase and applies Q damage with Powerball center impact. This new team synergy delivers a reliable and stronger engage option that players can land more easily during team fights.

Rammus has received updates that modernize his abilities by eliminating outdated mechanics. The new changes will provide players with more transparent scaling choices and improved jungle clear rates alongside a dependable engagement pattern.

The update eliminates some chaotic W uptime but compensates with enhanced item build flexibility and better damage scaling.

Final Thoughts

The update isn't a total overhaul but it successfully revives Rammus with fresh enhancements. The new scaling mechanics combined with improved ability synergy allow players to be more creative with item builds while enhancing dynamic gameplay.

Rammus is now the perfect champion for players who want to build magic resistance while maintaining damage output.
