It's no wonder that Riot Games have a love/ hate relationship with the League of Legends top lane. After all, the items they tend to give these champions can get quite overpowered, while they also nerf the lane into the ground every so often.
And even with their promised changes to the top lane coming in during preseason 13, in patch 12.17 they are buffing Camille, in time for Worlds, though whether she'll be played when Ornn and Aatrox exist is another matter entirely.
In patch 12.17, Riot are buffing Camille with the following buffs:
- Passive- Adaptive Defenses Percent HP Shielded: 17% ⇒ 20%
- E - Hookshot/Wall Dive Damage: 60/95/130/165/200 (+75% bonus AD) ⇒ 80/110/140/170/200 (+90% bonus AD)
"Camille is currently a cut below other prominent picks in the top lane", say Riot. "We’re giving her a little extra engage and trading power so that she has an opportunity to shine when the conditions are right, but will still be kept in check by champions that counter her."
Currently, Ornn, Sejuani, and Aatrox, are the most often played champions in the top lane, with Renekton falling behind due to his nerfs, as far as professional games are concerned.
So, for Camille, a tank-killer to get buffed is an interesting change indeed. The question is, will the buffs allow her to have enough early game damage to kill these monstrous tanks, or survive lethality Aatrox's damage with her buffed shield?
