League of Legends patch changes must first be tested on the Public Beta Environment servers, before going live. So, due to that, we have the option of knowing which champs Riot Games are buffing and nerfing, before the patch goes live.
Riot Phroxzon has revealed all of the buffs and nerfs for patch 12.17, as the second patch in a row aiming to get the game ready for the League of Legends World Championship 2022.
The champions getting buffed in patch 12.17 are:
- Miss Fortune
- Kassadin
- Twisted Fate
- Rell
- Graves
- Nocturne
- Ezreal
- Camille
- Sett
On the other hand, champion buffs will be given to the following champions:
- Nami (Electrocute)
- Taric
- Azir
- Ahri
- Sylas
- Trundle
- Wukong
- Sivir
- Renekton
It seems like Riot Games are back to their old self, of favoring certain champions over others. The champions getting nerfed, are mostly those that have not had a place in the pro scene for a while, while the ones getting buffed are the champions we see constantly. Who wants to see Graves played, again, during Worlds?
Furthermore, the Renekton nerfs have revealed that this champion needs a permanent fix. It only took a week of him being strong in the meta, for Riot Games to nerf the champion, which will once again ruin his pick rate completely.
