The last top lane champion Riot Games added to League of Legends was Gwen, a top lane skirmisher. She is a far cry from what the top lane archetype is, and the new champion coming to League of Legends may fulfill it, finally.
Riot have released a roadmap for pre-season 2023, along with the champions we can expect to see in the game in the future, with K'Sante being the only champion arriving in season 12.
The recent announcement of a collaboration between Riot Games and Lil Nas X was followed by an announcement of a prestige skin for the new top lane champion.
This skin will be available on November 3, 2022. It's the same day that League of Legends patch 12.21 is scheduled to go live, so we can easily surmise that K'Sante will be released alongside his Prestige Skin.
We have not been shown what K'Sante looks like yet, but we can safely say that the biggest part of his champion design is his weapon, Ntofo, which can transform from a defensive bludgeon to a hail of blades.
And while we know that there is already a race in League of Legends that are living weapons, it will be interesting to see how Riot Games creates K'Sante, someone relying on his unique weapon so much, without leaning into Darkin territory.
