Team Vitality is making yet another super team, it seems. T1's challenger toplaner - Photon is reportedly joining Team Vitality as a replacement for Alphari.

Sources tell us that T1's  toplaner is joining Team Vitality for the LEC 2023 season. As reported by LEC Wooloo , Photon played for the T1 League of Legends  challenger squad this summer. It looks like Team Vitality opted for a Korean toplaner.

Riot Games  seems alright with all the Korean imports playing in Europe. Kyeong "Photon" Gyu-tae (born November 30, 2001) is a Korean player who is currently playing as a toplaner for T1 Challengers.

Saying that Vitality’s 2022 superteam project failed is an understatement considering their results. Spending millions on superstar names like Perkz and Alphari and missing the playoffs is not a good strategy.

Vitality explored many options to replace Barney “Alphari” Morris in the top lane, including veterans Andrei “Odoamne” Pascu and Gabriël “Bwipo” Rau.

When they could not land either of them, they turned to Korean youngsters Photon, Cho “Castle” Hyeon-Seong, and Park “Thanatos” Seung-gyu. And finally, their decision was to go for Photon!

Vitality isn’t backing down on its ambitions and wants to field as stacked a roster as possible in 2023. This is, in part, because selling Perkz with his huge contract is almost certainly impossible.

The organization will reportedly build a squad around him again, but there is a twist: Team Vitality's new toplaner will be Photon, a 20-year-old rookie who competed in LCK Challenger League for T1.
