One of Riot Games' balance team members has revealed the upcoming changes for a forgotten League of Legends champion - Swain. These changes will most likely be a part of patch 12.6.

League of Legends champion Swain has been in a very strange meta place for years now. Since his rework a couple of seasons ago, he kind of lost his identity and he's considered to be a support rather than a mid-lane mage which was his original role.

He still joins the meta from time to time but mostly in the bot lane where he takes the role of a hook support. A recent tweet by Riot Games Associate Game Designer by the name Truexy has revealed that Swain will undergo some significant changes in the foreseeable future:

  • Ravenous Flock (passive) will no longer deal 20-105 (+30 per cent AP) magic damage
  • Death's Hand (Q) - Cooldown will go down from 9-3 to 7-3 seconds; mana cost will get reduced from 65-85 to 50-70
  • Demonic Ascension (R) - Cooldown will get lowered from 120 seconds flat to 120-80 scaling

This will allow swain to use his Death's Hand (Q) more often which will result in a smoother laning phase. All these changes should overall be considered as a mid-sized buff to both his mid or bot lane role.

Fans have welcomed these buffs claiming that he is very mana hungry at the moment and lowering his mana costs as well as his cooldowns is certainly a step in the right direction for this champion.
