Larian Studios have announced a new title set in Rivellon, named Divinity: Fallen Heroes. It will focus more on tactics but still retain RPG elements and will bring back the same gang from Divinity: Original Sin 2 for another adventure.
According to Larian, Divnity: Fallen Heroes is a new tactical turn based game that is "oozing with RPG elements" but this time around they are not the only ones involved in the development. The game was produced by a partnership between Larian Studios and Logic Artists.
The story will apparently revolve around facing a new evil that was not revealed yet and the commander is called back to Lady Vengeance once again where they will continue the story they left off after the conclusion of Divinity: Original Sin 2. While the game's story was neither a cliffhanger nor inconclusive, Malady remained a mystery to many fans.
It appears that her backstory will get some love with Fallen Heroes as she is the one beckoning the commander to bring back the crew and go adventure once more. On top of that, players will apparently be able to forego their created character and instead choose to go with Malady in their place instead.
Fallen Heroes' "rich tactical gameplay" will apparently involve some new features and mechanics that are being added to the engine Divinity: Original Sin 2 was running on. Furthermore, the game will be released on multiple platforms later in 2019 which pretty much confirms PC, PlayStation and Xbox one. It is currently unknown whether a Switch version will be available at launch.
Divinity: Fallen Heroes will 60 new missions, 30 new enemy types as well as plethora of new armour and weapons. The old interactive elements such as Oil, Fire, Ice, Water and Poison are making a return while Sulfurium will be making a debut. Speaking of debuts, gunpowder will make one as well so players will have access to pistols and rifles throughout the game.
