Larian Studios released another gameplay video for Baldur's Gate 3 along with the announcement that we are just over a month away from getting into early access.

Swen Vincke, Chris Perkins and Adam Smith of Larian Studios spoke with Geoff Keighley during a rather long Early Access Date Reveal video which you can watch below in its entirety. However, the reason you came here for is the date itself, which is September 30, 2020.

There are plenty of other details that were revealed, such as the fact that players will start their journey in Avernus which happens to be the present focus of adventurers in Neverwinter MMO as well. For those unacquainted, Avernus is the first layer of Nine Hells of Baator that features the perpetual Blood Wars.

While the Early Access part may put some fans off due to it not being the finished game, it is worth noting that it will apparently feature over 20 hours of gameplay as it is.

Similar to Divinity Original Sin 2, there will be premade Origin characters that players can pick or make one of their own. The premade characters are:

  • Astarion - Elf Vampire Rogue
  • Gale - Human Wizard
  • Lae'zel - Githyanki Warrior
  • Shadowheart - Half-Elf Cleric
  • Wyll - Human Warlock

It is Lae'zel who was featured in the gameplay video with the intellect devourer below. It is not recommended for the faint of heart as Larian didn't pull punches and depicted the grotesque scene in brutal manner for the maximum effect.
