3D Realms and Voidpoint revealed more about the upcoming expansion for Ion Fury, such as the release window and precursors for Aftershock.

Ion Fury : Aftershock is set to release at some point during Q1 2022. It will be made available on Steam, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One simultaneously so there are no staggered releases between platforms.

That's still a three-month window we're talking about so it may not be exactly a hype-driving train but the devs will not sit idly by until it releases either.

Around a month in the future from the time of publishing, the team is going to release the 2.0 patch for Ion Fury. When the September 2021 update kicks in, it will introduce a revamped controller support, better features for mappers and additional weapon balancing.

Furthermore, the pocket inventory system will let Shelly bring power-ups along which should give the players an opportunity to plan ahead and enhance their strategic play.

As for the expansion itself, it will apparently start just seconds after the Ion Fury game concludes. The big baddie of the game may or may not be dead so Shelly is out to get him, maybe, again.

Another tool in Shelly's arsenal will be the high-speed Hover Bike that we saw in the trailers already. Besides being cool beyond bounds, it has mounted lead spitters to get rid of anyone or anything in Shelly's way.
