Insurgency Sandstorm developer New World Interactive have revealed that one of the upcoming content updates will introduce a brand new map named Power Plant, which was originally planned as a console-exclusive release.
It's been a while since the last Insurgency Sandstorm content update and that is why the developer New World Interactive decided to reveal more details about their plans for upcoming content drops. In the latest State of Production post, the devs talked about consoles release, new maps, guns cosmetics and some other features that are coming soon.
The new map is named Power Plant and you can see a part of it in the screenshot above. Originally, New World Interactive planned to release the map as a console-exclusive map for a limited time only.
However, after consulting with the publisher Focus Home Interactive and porting teams, they decided to release the map as soon as the development and testing are done. Power Plant should arrive in Spring update. Unfortunately, the exact release date is yet to be revealed but you can expect the update in a couple of months.
The same goes for consoles port release, which is "approaching rapidly" but sadly, the exact date is still not available.
On top of this, Spring update will also bring two new weapons as well as a few new cosmetics, for both teams. Cosmetics include the headset, leather jacket and mask. The devs also promise to add Domination mode to all existing maps as well as any maps that release in the future.
The blog post includes several other updates on some of the issues and player reporting feature. You can check it out here for more details.
