Insurgency Sandstorm update 1.5 brought along the new game mode, Domination. While new for this particular game, it's nothing new in FPS world. Then again, it is one of the most popular modes and is bound to give Insurgency Sandstorm players a lot more fun times.
The basic rundown is that two teams will fight over three control zones and gain points based on the number of controlled zones. Respawn are apparently random though so it remains to be seen how that will work out. New World didn't mention any modifiers that could affect the viable respawn zones so it might be possible unfavourable spawn points will happen.
All weapons will be available in this mode that will unfold over five maps at launch:
- Hideout
- Hillside
- Farmhouse
- Crossing
- Ministry
On top of that, players will be able to enjoy the improved weapon sway which will be more predictable and overall easier to control while standing still or crouching. Meanwhile, recoil will be less noticeable while standing or leaning, compared to other stances. The intention seems to be to lower the amount of run and gun gameplay by improving the more static ways of playing Insurgency Sandstorm.
Developers also prepared a chunky matchmaking improvement for the players, which should help them get more satisfying matches with update 1.5. On top of that, there is a mountain of bug fixes that is simply too big to list. You can preview on the official Steam post by New World Interactive.
