UK developer Ninja Theory have shared the first Hellblade 2 developer diary in 2023, talking about how they are realistically recreating Iceland in their upcoming action adventure.
Xbox exclusive Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 is certainly one of the most anticipated action adventures that are set to be released over the coming years and today, developer Ninja Theory have revealed some additional details about the development of the game in their latest dev diary video.
In the first dev update in 2023, this Xbox studio shared insight into their travels to stunning Iceland, where they scanned the environments and assets for Hellblade 2.
Previously, the team said they are trying to recreate the locations of Iceland, without changing anything, to have the most realistic-looking video game ever.
In this dev diary, they talked about that in detail, mentioning tech like photogrammetry and how they coped with COVID-19 travel restrictions, which prevented them from visiting Iceland. The video is quite fascinating and we wholeheartedly recommend you give it a careful look.
Ninja Theory are really crafting Hellblade 2 with so much care and detail so we have no doubts that this sequel will be highly successful just like the original, which won multiple BAFTAs.
Hellblade 2 still does not have a release date. The game is coming to Xbox Series X|S and PC and will be available in Xbox Game Pass on day one.
