When Microsoft shut down four Bethesda studios that primarily focused on creating single-player video games, many Xbox fans started to fear that other development teams under the Xbox umbrella with a similar focus could suffer the same fate.
Studios like Ninja Theory who are releasing their cinematic narrative action-adventure Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 today, came to mind due to their strictly single-player output and focus on a genre that isn't really fit for mainstream gaming.

Fortunately, it looks like Microsoft don't have any plans to close down Ninja Theory anytime soon. According to WindowsCentral, Microsoft even greenlit their next project which means the Cambridge-based studio now have two games in development. They previously announced a small horror title Project Mara.
In addition, Xbox community member and content creator Gaz, provided additional info on the newly greenlit project, stating that this is the third game in the Hellblade series.
Gaz wrote on social media X that Xbox gave Ninja Theory assurances after the recent closures and said a big yes to Hellblade 3. "Hellblade 3 has already been green lit. Xbox gave Ninja Theory assurances already apparently after the Tango fiasco," he said.
Obviously, none of this is officially confirmed by Xbox or Ninja Theory so you should definitely take it with a grain of salt. Even if Microsoft did greenlight Hellblade 3, things can often change during development and games get cancelled all the time before they are even properly revealed.
I'm not saying Hellblade 3 does not exist at the moment, only that you should not take the rumours above as gospel until we get an official announcement from Microsoft.
One thing that we'd love to see in the potential third game in the series is expanded gameplay given that Hellblade 2 is pretty much Hellblade 1 but with prettier graphics. Hopefully, Ninja Theory will look to change the walking sim formula and offer a more satisfying gameplay experience.
