Players that have pre-ordered the Halo Wars 2: Ultimate Edition, set to release in February 2017, can dive into the yet unreleased version of Halo Wars: Definitive Edition, as early as today.
Halo Wars was a bit of an experiment at the time of its release. Riding on the then incredibly popular Halo brand, it tired to bring a real-time strategy experience to consoles, with moderate success. It is still the best selling console RTS to date, and was generally well received by critics, with due consideration for what it aimed to be, and on a platform severely limiting for the genre.
now transfers that experience to the PC, bundled with all additional content released for the game since 2009, and with improvements to graphics and overall presentation.
