Daybreak Games are releasing a new season for H1Z1: Battle Royale on PlayStation 4 on 21 February 2019 and it will bring Training Grounds, ranked leaderboards, a new battle pass with 100 tiers and a brand new mode - Free For All Deathmatch.

H1Z1: Battle Royale Season 3 expansion will be a free update, except for the paid cosmetics and the new battle pass, which is nothing unusual these days. It will, however, bring two new modes for players to either enjoy or hone their skills in.

Training Grounds, just as the name suggests, will be a mode where players will be able to practice and try out different loadouts. They will be able to practice their mechanics with weapons, as well as learn about said weapons by testing their recoil and range.

Free For All Deathmatch is a well known mode among the shooter fans and it's the usual drill - kill everyone else, try to stay alive as long as possible. If you die, it doesn't matter much as respawns will be instant. H1Z1's take on this mode is a bit different though, as we don't usually see 50 players dropped into the same crammed map, but this player number will definitely bring more mayhem.

Players will need to reach 25 kills before their peers in order to win the match and weapons will be switched based one a timer, so the combat shouldn't be getting stale any time soon.

Those who want less mindless murder and more structured combat should be happy with the addition of ranked leaderboards. During Season 3, players will get separate leaderboards for each queue in the battle royale mode - Solos, Dupos and Fives.

There will be six ranks - Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond and Master. Matchmaking rating will not be the only thing tracked by the leaderboards though, as players will be able to check kills, matches played and more statistics for themselves, as well as their peers.

Season 3 Battle Pass will include 100 reward tiers and more than 200 cosmetic items to be earned. This will be the biggest Battle Pass in H1Z1 so far and will continue with the tradition of giving PS Plus subscribers exclusive rewards. You can find more info on the official Season 3 page .
