GungHo Online Entertainment, best known for developing countless Nintendo and PlayStation titles, has officially announced their new project, titled Disney Pixel RPG.
Disney Pixel RPG is their brand new project that brings many iconic Disney characters to life in a pixel art setting. The free-to-play title has been officially listed on the Google Play Store and iOS's App Store. The game is currently in development, with GungHo targeting a late 2024 release.
Disney Pixel RPG is officially under development
Disney has officially announced that GungHo Online Entertainment is working on the development of their newest mobile game, Disney Pixel RPG. The game will initially be released in Japan on September 9 and later in other parts of the world.
GungHo has stated that the title is fully optimised for tablets and devices with large screens. Aside from that, the game's preview version will be available on Android and iOS devices soon. They have also confirmed the following characters for the game:
- Mickey Mouse
- Donald Duck
- Goofy
- Ariel
- Maleficent
- Baymax (Big Hero 6)
- Genie (Aladdin)
- Winnie the Pooh
- Aurora (Sleeping Beauty)
- Stitch
Disney Pixel RPG is going to be a Gacha game. Players can create a three-character party for their combat and exploration situations. The game will feature a main story mode alongside an expedition mode players can use to gather resources when they are away from their devices.
Players can officially preregister for the game on the Google Play Store and the App Store. GungHo has announced a chance to win ¥10,000 Amazon gift card for Japanese gamers who pre-register for the game.
While Disney Pixel RPG will become available to Japanese gamers on September 9, GungHo Online Entertainment and Disney have not confirmed an official release date for the game in other parts of the world. More details on the game will become available in the coming months.
