While Rockstar Games does nothing to let the lid off the hype train for Grand Theft Auto 6, arguably one of the most anticipated titles in gaming history.
This year, GTA 6 picked up a "Most Wanted Game" award at the Golden Joystick Awards and is due to also compete in that category for "Most Anticipated Game" at this years' The Game Awards 2024.
During the acceptance, some Rockstar developers hinted at some very minor news and at the same time some rather exciting ones: the upcoming game will contain some "mind-blowing" elements.
Speaking during the award, a representative for Rockstar added: "There's an incredible amount of people doing amazing things on Grand Theft Auto 6, absolutely mind-blowing things. It's an honor to accept this award on behalf of everyone involved. Thank you to our fans-mean everything to us. And yes, there's more to come."
While Rockstar hasn't revealed much since the first trailer back in December 2023, some leaks and a few official hints falsely point to it having a modern Vice City setting.
The series will have two protagonists; Lucia is the first ever female series lead, while the name of her partner is leaked as Jason. Ever since the first trailer dropped, fans have carried out frame-by-frame analyses for any hidden clues, or speculated on real-world areas supposedly featured.
Parent company Take-Two Interactive has reiterated the Fall 2025 release window while at the same time assuring investors that it would not launch concurrently with any of their other major titles, mainly Borderlands 4.
While fans have been asking for a second trailer to drop any day now, so far, no concrete details have been announced. With its rich heritage and the promise of revolutionary content from Rockstar, this game certainly seems to be one of the most ambitious titles in video game history.
If you're a fan, stick around for more updates on the game for the coming months.
