Yet another cheat maker bites the dust and Take-Two Interactive even made them donate their proceeds to a charity, which almost sounds like a redemption arc.
Granted, it takes quite a bit more for a redemption arc than simply donating money you've earned peddling cheats, but it's certainly as good a start as any.
Anyway, LunaCheats has been one of the more popular peddlers of GTA Online cheats, but their services have ceased quite abruptly. In fact, their website has nothing but the following message on it:
"After discussions with Take-Two Interactive, we are immediately ceasing all maintenance, development, and distribution of our cheat menu services. We will also be donating our proceeds to a charity designated by Take-Two.
We apologize for any and all problems our software has caused to the Grand Theft Auto Online community."
We imagine that the discussions they're referring to weren't very pleasant affairs, as one would expect when facing a huge company's legal department. On the other hand, the outcome where they simply disappear can still be considered an easy way out when compared to facing the said department in a court.
As for the problems caused to the Grand Theft Auto Online community, the damage has mostly been done, so we can only hope we'll keep seeing less and less cheating involved.
We must admit we're sort of liking the approach gaming companies have taken in fighting cheaters lately, as they increasingly go after them as legal subjects. In many cases, cheating has evolved into a business that's leeching off of games, and it's only fitting then to keep hitting them at all fronts.
Thanks, Dexerto .
