GTA 6 was first revealed by Rockstar Games with the official trailer on December 5, 2023. The trailer generated unreal hype for the most awaited entrant to the GTA series.
However, fans were thrown off by the 2025 release date at the end of the trailer. After the trailer's release, Rockstar Games and Take Two shared no further details on the expected content and release date for GTA 6. Fortunately, in the recent Take Two earnings report, confirmation regarding GTA VI's release was found.
Take Two's Earnings Report confirms GTA 6's Release Date
After the 2024 earnings report for Take Two was published online, players were quick to catch a glimpse of GTA 6 being mentioned in CEO Strauss Zelnick's footnote. The company head shared his positive outlook on GTA 6's release, which is scheduled for the fall of the calendar year 2025.
Since the trailer's launch in 2023, players have been eager to know about the release window of their favourite Rockstar Games title. Now, Take Two's earnings report brings official confirmation for the game's release in Fall 2025.
GTA 6 will initially launch on the next-gen consoles PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X just like Red Dead Redemption 2, GTA 5 and other Rockstar Games titles. After a year or so, the game might become ready for an official release on PC.
Based in Leonida, Vice City, GTA 6 will feature the first female protagonist in Grand Theft Auto history alongside an usual male protagonist. Aside from that, GTA 6 game file leaks also teased the inclusion of new movement mechanics such as going prone and combat mechanics.
As time progresses, we can expect Take Two and Rockstar Games to share more details on GTA 6 such as the official pricing of the game, release date for PC and the availability of multiplayer game mode.
