Even though Gogle's launch of Stadia wasn't exactly laden with exclusives, the company is planning to amend that in 2020, and then some. Apparently, we're looking at 10 games exclusive to Stadia in the first half of 2020 alone.
Stadia's embracing of exclusives is, of course, nothing new by now, and as Epic Games Store's most recent numbers have proven - expanding a platform is infinitely easier when there's something that sets you apart from the competition.
Stadia is all about building a bigger userbase so the exclusives are just the tip of the iceberg, but Google are not building a closed ecosystem here. In other words, there's plenty more to come from their console-less console.
"Looking at our upcoming lineup, we are tracking more than 120 games coming to Stadia in 2020, and are targeting more than ten games in the first half of this year alone that will be only available on Stadia when they launch", they wrote in a recent announcement.
Apart from the games that Google added in the two months since Stadia launched, they also added Typhoon Studios to the Stadia Games and Entertainment family.
As for 2020, Google listed the following features coming to Stadia in the first quarter and beyond:
- Support for 4k gaming on the Web
- Add further Assistant functionality when playing on the Web
- Support additional Android Phones
- Wireless gameplay on the Web through the Stadia controller
They also highlighted that the benefit of Stadia is that these updates won't require downloads, thanks to the inherent advantages of its design.
If you're interested in Stadia Pro games, Google will have more info to share towards the end of the month, which means pretty soon as we're technically in the latter end of the month.
