Counterplay Games and Gearbox Publishing rolled out a brief teaser for their upcoming action RPG Godfall, and this time it's all about combat and flashy moves.
The teaser is called "Mentally, we're on PS5" which is alluding to the fact the video has Godfall running at 4K resolution and 60 FPS.
Godfall's new teaser shows the protagonist clad in shiny armour, fighting another every bit as armoured enemy. And when we said flashy moves, they're flashy both literally and figuratively - there are some seriously cool effects on display here. Perhaps even more importantly, though, it looks pretty fluid and definitely fun.
In its essence, Godfall is a looter-shooter, although its clear preference on cold weaponry makes it more of a looter-slasher, but that's the gist of it.
In spite of the rumours, Godfall dev stressed that they don't consider it game-as-service, at least not a traditional one. There won't be any microtransactions, but there will be plenty of content added for players who finish the campaign.
Players who like exploration should find Godfall to be a lovely experience as well, with special care taken to craft each of the Elemental Realms for maximum eye-candy.
Counterplay games claim they've looked at just about every looter shooter on the market in designing their loot system. The ultimate goal for Godfall was to make a system that feels fair in the moment, as opposed to beating a boss and getting mediocre equipment, which can feel like a double bummer.
Developed by Counterplay Games and published by Gearbox Publishing, Godfall's slated for launch in late 2020 for PlayStation 5 and PC, the latter exclusively via Epic Games Store.
