Sony has announced new release dates for Ghost of Tsushima and The Last of Us Part II. The post confirming the new release dates, written by Hermen Hulst, Head of Worldwide Studios offers congratulations and praise to the developers.
Ghost of Tsushima and The Last of Us Part II have received fresh release dates. A post by Hermen Hulst, Head of Worldwide Studios, SIE on PlayStation Blog confirmed that The Last of Us Part II will arrive on 19 June and Ghost of Tsushima will follow on 17 July.
Hulst went on to extend his congratulations as well as thanks to both the teams at Naughty Dog and Sucker Punch Productions on their achievements saying that "it’s not an easy feat to reach the finish line under these circumstances" - speaking, of course, about the difficulties presented by the current pandemic.
Sucker Punch Productions' Twitter account also shared the news echoing Hulst's sentiment and saying: "There have certainly been challenges in adapting to game development in a Work From Home environment, but thanks to an incredible effort by our worldwide team, Ghost is nearly ready for release..."
The tweet was followed by nothing but words of encouragement by the fans thanking them for their effort in transitioning to Work from Home and being able to complete the project.
Another fan remarked that the studio is "crafting the GOTY" and others offered their words of encouragement by simply replying "understandable".
The news about The Last of Us Part II release date comes on the heels of a recent leak that yielded a bunch of major spoilers and plot points. Sony and naughty dog have yet to comment on the leak.
