Ghost of Tushima is now the most successful single-player game released by Sony Interactive Entertainment on the PC platform in terms of player activity.
Yesterday, Sony's game Ghost of Tsushima on Steam was simultaneously played by more than 77,000 players, making it the most successful single-player game that Sony has so far launched on the PC platform in terms of activity.
Until now, the record was held by God of War with 72 thousand simultaneous players, while the most successful by far is this year's hit Helldivers 2 with more than half a million simultaneous players.
However, it will be interesting to see if these stats translate to the game's overall sales. It is possible that sales of Ghost of Tsushima will be weaker than previous Sony games, despite this kind of player activity, because the game has been withdrawn from sale in a number of markets.
According to data extracted from materials alienated from Insomniac Games, by 2023 Sony had sold 3.3 million copies of Horizon: Zero Dawn and 2.5 million copies of God of War through Steam.
Precise data on the total sales of Ghost of Tsushima (on consoles) are not available, but we know that the game exceeded 10 million copies sold in the first two years of sales.
In other words, it seems that Sony's PC ports will almost certainly never reach the milestone represented by Helldivers 2. But simply narrowing the list down to the company's single-player offerings, Ghost of Tsushima is near the top. And with the weekend just about to start, this one has a few more positions in case the title reaches an even bigger peak.
