Ghost of Tsushima is getting its first major update and it is a doozie. The free patch will introduce a new co-op multiplayer mode, story missions and New Game+.
Ghost of Tsushima's first major update will materialize on October 16. Version 1.1 will be a free update for all players and bring the launch of Ghost of Tsushima: Legends, a brand-new co-op multiplayer mode inspired by Japanese mythology, as well as exciting new updates and New Game+ for the single-player campaign.
Ghost of Tsushima: Legends
As announced back in August , Ghost of Tsushima: Legends is a brand new, online cooperative multiplayer experience.
Ghost of Tsushima: Legends will let you fight side-by-side with your friends and feature two-player story missions and four-player survival missions, as well as a Raid that we’ll release in the weeks following launch.
The new multiplayer experience will add a new character to various towns and locations in Tsushima - Gyozen the Storyteller.
Speaking to Gyozen will give the players access to the Ghost of Tsushima: Legends lobby, but you can also get there directly from the title menu or the pause menu as well as by accepting a PSN invitation from a friend.
Classes
In Ghost of Tsushima: Legends, you’ll be able to pick between one of four classes:
- Samurai
- Hunter
- Ronin
- Assassin
Story Missions
Ghost of Tsushima: Legends Story Missions are designed to take two players through Gyozen’s stories about what’s really happening in Tsushima.
Survival Missions
Team up with three other players to fight off waves of enemies while defending different locations in Tsushima. You and your team can activate blessings to help you. The longer you survive and the more bonus objectives you complete, the more rewards you’ll earn.
Raid
Assemble a 4-player team and try to survive Iyo's realm. The Raid is a three-part adventure that will require teamwork and communication to overcome. It will be released in the weeks following the launch of Ghost of Tsushima: Legends.
New Game+
If you’ve already beaten Ghost of Tsushima, you’ll find the option to re-embark on Jin’s Journey in New Game+.
The New Game+ adventure will start shortly after Jin’s initial confrontation with the Khan. You’ll keep all of the Techniques, Gear, and Vanity items obtained in a previous playthrough, and difficulty will be increased to provide a new challenge (you can still adjust it down in the menu).
Moreover, there will be a fresh New Game+ horse, with a vibrant red mane and a unique saddle. New Charms, weapon and armour upgrades and Trophies included.
