A recent tweet from a credible Genshin Impact leaker has revealed that we might get two banner re-runs in the upcoming update 2.2. Thoma will apparently be the only new character.
The addition of a new character is probably the most exciting thing a casual Genshin Impact player is looking forward to, especially in the latter stages of the game when there aren't as many quests and events to enjoy.
A recent post on the official Genshin Impact Twitter account has already revealed one of the upcoming characters, the Pyro polearm user Thoma. miHoYo has been announcing upcoming characters via Twitter for the past two updates.
Considering that they've only revealed Thoma could mean that he will be the only new character in update 2.2 and since he's a four-star, we could get two banner re-runs for the banner.
A recent post from a credible Genshin Impact leaker called UBatcha1 has revealed that the only new character in the current 2.2 beta phase is Thoma.
Previously the same leaker has apparently leaked the upcoming banner characters. However, even though he might've gotten Yae Miko wrong, some of those could still be true. If we exclude Yae Miko, this means that Ganyu could be released the first banner character of the 2.2 update which should drop around November 15.
Ganyu has certainly become one of the fan-favorite characters in Genshin Impact. She is one of the strongest characters in the game right now and probably the strongest DPS in the game alongside Eula and Hu Tao. Ganyu is a Cryo bow user and she is one of the most important characters in the Liyue region.
Yae Miko is another character mentioned in the leak and she's already become one of the fan-favorite characters in Genshin Impact. She has already made two appearances in the last two update previews (2.0 and 2.1) and according to the recent live stream, she will be the main character that takes us through the second part of Inazuma.
