The official Genshin Impact Twitter account took the community by surprise as they revealed a brand new playable character - Aloy. The new character is based on the popular Horizon Zero Dawn protagonist.
The addition of a new character is probably the most exciting thing a casual Genshin Impact player is looking forward to, especially in the latter stages of the game when there aren't as many quests and events to enjoy.
miHoYo have already announced a couple of new characters on their official social media accounts. Those characters include Kazuha, Ayaka, Yoimiya and Sayu. All of these characters are expected to come in the foreseeable future. Recent leaks have revealed a bunch of interesting characters like Gorou, Kokomi, Sara and others.
The official Genshin Impact Twitter account has revealed a brand new character to the game but she seems kind of familiar. This "Savior from Another World" is none other than the main protagonist from the popular action RPG game Horizon Zero Dawn - Aloy.
Aloy will be available for every Genshin Impact player, not just PlayStation users. She will be equipped with a bow and her vision of choice will be Cryo. This means that she will be the third Cryo bow characters in the game. The other two are Ganyu and Diona.
How can players obtain Aloy?
In order to get Aloy, you will need to have an account with Adventure Rank 20 or above. Players will be notified with an email once they log in to the game during update 2.1 and 2.2. PlayStation players will get Aloy during 2.1 while PC and mobile players will have to wait for update 2.2 to drop.
According to miHoYo's usual update schedule, 2.1 should go live around September 2 while 2.2 could drop around October 23.
