Microsoft announced Gears Tactics has gone gold, meaning the development has concluded and it's all about distribution and good vibes.

Gears Tactics is now ready for distribution but there is still a bit of wait until the game actually releases. It is coming out on 28 April 2020 via Windows 10, Steam or Xbox Game Pass for PC.

Xbox One fans found themselves a bit disappointed the game will not launch for their console on the same day but the good news is that this is by no means a PC exclusive. As Microsoft themselves stated, Gears Tactics will come to Xbox One later in 2020.

For those not familiar with the title, it is a new take on Gears universe where the players will command their squad in a different way. The gameplay will be similar to that of other turn-based titles like XCOM or Divinity Original Sin series.

PC requirements don't seem to high, meaning the developers did quite the job on optimising the game. However, the minimum PC specs seem to be slightly more powerful than the base Xbox One.

Considering the minimum system requirements list AMD Radeon R7 260X / GeForce GTX 750 Ti as the GPUs of choice, it is possible that the console version still needs some optimisation, which could be the reason why it's not coming out on the same day.

Either way, even the half a decade old rigs should be able to run Gears Tactics so chances are you might just be able to spin the game up there, even if Xbox One is your main source of gaming.
