Decades-old games are in again and Age of Empires just got a DLC that gives more civilisations to learn and fail at.
Lords of the West introduces two new civilisations and three fully voiced campaigns to Age of Empires. Burgundians, one of the two new civs, will boast advanced military technology and tactics. Their unique unit is the Coustillier, cavalry that can shock enemies when charging into battle.
Meanwhile, the Sicilians will give you an offer you can't refuse. Not really but they do have Serjeant, an infantry unit that is able to construct the Donjon, or a keep if you will.
Edward Longshanks is the first of the three new campaigns. The eponymous noble vows to reclaim his birthright and get England to the top of the medieval food chain. Players will get to follow this merciless leader throughout England, Wales, Scotland and a Crusade. As you probably guessed by now, Britons are the featured civilisation in this campaign.
The Grand Dukes of the West will feature the aforementioned Burgundians and the players will need to get this civilisation to prevail over the mad French king by utilising their advanced military and wealth.
The Hautevilles is the third campaign you are getting with the expansion and it will follow the exploits of Robert de Hauteville that resulted in his lineage becoming one of the most important of the era even though he initially left Normandy as mere leader of a small robber band.
Lords of the West costs $9.99 / €9.99 and can be purchased on either Steam or Microsoft store.
