The Coalition have announced Gears 5 Halloween celebrations that bring a couple of new additions. Players will get to battle out in a brand new mode named Pumpkin Ball, with a chance to win a special Frankenstein's Imago skin.
As we get closer and closer to Halloween, many live service titles are introducing special limited-time Halloween events with fresh content, rewards and spooky vibe. Gears 5 developers The Coalition won't miss the celebrations and have officially announced a limited-time event for their shooter.
The event is now live on both PC and Xbox One and will run until 05 November 2019. During the event, players will get to participate in a brand new game mode named Pumpkin Ball, which replaces the heads of the various characters in the game with Jack-O-Lanterns.
Halloween event also brings a special reward for everyone who manages to complete 13 matches in the Pumpkin Ball playlist. The reward is Frankenstein's Imaago skin, which looks pretty ghastly. You can take a closer look at it in the short video below.
Unfortunately, that is everything for Halloween celebrations in Gears 5 this year. It's not much but it's still better than nothing and you also get extra skin.
In other Gears 5 news, recently, The Coalition added a new Batista skin and players have five more days to unlock it. All you have to do is simply play the game. A quite generous offer from the devs to be honest.
And while it's always good to see new content, some players feel that the developers should focus on fixing the issues that are preventing them from enjoying the game. Some Twitter users replied to Gears 5's Halloween tweet by saying that their completed games are not counting towards the skin while others were unhappy with constant server crashes. Hopefully, these issues get fixed in future updates.
Gears 5 is available now on PC and Xbox One.
