Free Fire Champions Cup and World Series 2020 line-up announced

Free Fire will host up to 4 international esports tournaments in 2020, starting with the Champions Cup in April. The Cup will be hosted in Jakarta, Indonesia. The game's World Series will take place in Brazil once more - as was the case in 2019.

Free Fire, the mobile battle royale game, will have a busy year according to its line-up for the major esports tournaments and milestones. Free Fire will host up to 4 international esports tournaments for 2020, with up to $2M (₤1.53) in total prize pool up for grabs.

Southeast Asia to host Free Fire’s first global tournament of 2020

The Free Fire Champions Cup 2020 will happen in Jakarta, Indonesia on 19 April 2020. The Cup qualifiers have already begun and top 12 teams from 9 regions will have the opportunity to battle (royale) it out in April. 

This will mark the return of the global tournament to Southeast Asia, where the first-ever global tournament for Free Fire was held - the Free Fire World Cup 2019 in Bangkok, Thailand. Back then, Team Evos Capital from Indonesia emerged victorious and the entire event reached over 1 million peak concurrent views on YouTube.

Free Fire World Series 2020 returns to Brazil

The Free Fire World Series (FFWS) will continue for its second edition in November 2020 and the finals will take place in Brazil for the second year in a row. 

At the most recent Free Fire World Series in 2019, Team Corinthians from Brazil became the first Free Fire team to win a global tournament on home turf. Back in 2019, the biggest Free Fire event of the year - the World Series tournament, brought together 12 teams who earned the number one seed from regional leagues to compete for a total prize pool of $400,000 (₤306,422).

The four global Free Fire tournaments in 2020 

After the Free Fire Champions Cup 2020 in April winds down, the fans can expect two more Free Fire global tournaments taking place in June and July. More details will be revealed at a later date.
