"On the heels of crowning this season's FNCS Champions, we're excited to announce our next round of competition is right around the corner: The FNCS Invitational", Epic wrote.
The event kicks off on Saturday, 9 May 2020, and will take the following three weekends to complete. Each region's top Fortnite players will be invited, albeit Epic get to invite up to 100 players directly.
Participants for the FNCS Invitational will be:
- The top 100 players from Chapter 2; Season 2 PC FNCS Finals
- The top 100 players from Chapter 2; Season 2 Console/Mobile FNCS Finals
- The top 100 players from Chapter 2; Season 1 FNCS Finals
- The top 100 players from Season X FNCS Finals
- Up to 100 players invited directly by Epic
The FNCS Invitational will be a Solo competition and will use a new scoring format. Each week will bring own prizes, with the best players progressing to the following week.
There will also be Open Qualifier for Champion ranked players on 2 May 2020, where additional 100 players will get a chance to participate in the event.
As for the scoring system, Epic listed the following in the official rules, which you may want to browse through if you're planning on competing.
- Victory Royale: 33 Points
- 2nd: 26 Points
- 3rd: 22 Points
- 4th: 19 Points
- 5th: 17 Points
- 6th: 16 Points
- 7th: 15 Points
- 8th: 14 Points
- 9th: 13 Points
- 10th: 12 Points
- 11th - 15th: 9 Points
- 16th - 20th: 7 Points
- 21st - 30th: 5 Points
- 31st - 40th: 3 Points
- 41st - 50th: 2 Points
- 51st - 75th: 1 Point
Each Elimination: 4 Points
