As promised in Epic's last development update video, Fortnite v8.30 has brought Reboot Vans, Epic's version of Apex Legends' respawn mechanic, as well as Fly Explosives limited time mode and Buccaneer's Bounty Event, which will cycle LTMs.

You'd think there's not much else to be said about Reboot Vans, especially if you've played Apex Legends, but Epic did tweak a few things so here's a quick run-through.

If your Fortnite teammates end up biting the dust, you have 90 seconds to pick up their Reboot Cards from their resting place and head on over to the nearest Reboot Van to bring them back.

Note that Reboot Vans have a cooldown of 120 seconds between usages, so if someone already used it, you'll have to find the next closest one or wait. Of course, you can bring back more than one teammate in one go and it takes about 10 seconds.

Rebooted teammates come back with 100 health, 1 common pistol, 36 light ammo bullets and 100 wood.

This is actually a clever way to circumvent Apex Legends' emptyhanded return, which can often result in equally as emptyhanded ascension back into heaven, or wherever Apex players go when they die.

Epic also rolled out the Buccaneer's Bounty Event, which has different limited time modes rotating from 10-15 April 2019 and a bunch of free challenges for players to earn in-game rewards.

Additionally, Buccaneer's Bounty provides higher spawn chances for Treasure Maps, which are now 0.5 per cent for floor loot and 3.05 per cent for chests.

Last but not least is the Fly Explosives LTM, which "combines the explosive fun of the High Explosives LTM with the Jetpack". It only features explosive weapons, but rocket ammo has been capped at 120. Also, floor loot will occasionally spawn jetpacks.

In preparation for the , which kicks off on 13 April 2019, Epic said that all aspect ratios will have the same vertical FOV on PC and Mac.

Moreover, Fortnite players with ultrawide monitors will be limited to 16:9 in competitive game modes.
