Epic Games have decided to hold one last Fortnite tournament before Apple's iOS battalion is left behind, with the rewards including Alienware laptops, Xbox and PS4 consoles, Samsung phones and more.
"These are the final days of the entire Fortnite community’s ability to play together. Apple has blocked Fortnite from the App Store, preventing players from updating to new versions. Players on iOS devices will be left behind on Chapter 2 - Season 3 while everyone else jumps into the Chapter 2 - Season 4 launch on August 27", the company wrote.
Epic are currently locked in a legal battle with Apple, which is an inescapable fact at this point. Fortnite's exile from Apple's App Store seems to have created a situation where iOS users will be forced to watch from the sidelines, so we guess they better be really good in Fortnite then.
Epic didn't resist the temptation of extending their legal fight against Apple onto the rewards. While some are just clothing with Fortnite's Lamma coloured in the old Apple colour scheme, others are significantly more lavish.
A total of 1,200 pieces of hardware will be going out the globally top-ranking 1,200 players and Epic stressed that no rewards have been sponsored by the companies. These are:
- Alienware Gaming Laptop
- Samsung Galaxy Tab S7
- OnePlus 8 - 90FPS on a phone
- PlayStation 4 Pro
- Xbox One X
- Nintendo Switch
