Less than two weeks from the official release date announcement, Sports Interactive and Sega have decided to push Football Manager 2025 to March 2025. The game was intitially schedueld to launch in November but the developer explained that they need more time to ensure the game is of the best possible quality.
"After careful consideration, Sports Interactive have made the tough decision to further delay the release of Football Manager 25. Following discussions with SEGA, our licensors and partners, we have agreed the best course of action is to delay the launch until March 2025," the dev team wrote in the announcement post.
Sports Interactive that things have been moving slower than they anticiapted, despite every single developer working really hard to meet the deadlines and get everything done.
The team simpy felt that they are under too much pressure which could backfire and result in an underwhelming product.
"Timelines were already tight and, as rightly pointed out by many of your recent comments, we were simply rushing too much and in danger of compromising our usual standards. This has put an enormous amount of pressure on everyone working across the studio, who are all passionately committed to delivering the best game possible."
It's certainly looks like Sports Interactive took a smart decision as the wellbeing of their team members is the most important thing, after all.
Sports Interactive also confirmed that everyone who pre-ordered the game and wish to refund it now that it's been delayed, can do so at their retailers.
